After over a decade of local government experience, Whitney is the navigator you want on your team. You can throw any question about local government at her, and she can point you in the right direction. 

Whitney has served as the Public Records Officer for multiple agencies and is a past president of the Washington Association of Public Records Officers. Her credentials include: 

  • Certified Public Records Officer
  • Certified Assistant Elections Administrator
  • Certified in Public Participation: Crisis Communications
  • Winner of the Association of Washington Cities 2017 Advocacy All-Star Award - Public Records Team

Through her experience in local government all over Washington, she continually noticed gaps in the public records world - not enough training opportunities for the professionals doing the work, and a disconnect between the public sector and the private companies trying to help them. As a result, she founded Ascender Consulting with the goal of improving the world of public records compliance in Washington State.
